Canadian Homeschool Research

HSLDA and CCHE have enlisted the expertise of Dr. Brian Ray (noted researcher and author on homeschooling in North America), to review and compile all the research ever done in Canada on homeschooling. This has resulted in an annotated bibliography of over 80 studies. Summaries of the studies are available here and are searchable by author or by year.

While homeschooling may seem to be a fringe movement to some, and while skeptical on-lookers may question the quality of education one may receive at home, the research shows that over 94% of home-educated children scored above the Canadian academic average. Some 2% of all Canadian children are educated at home, and that number is growing annually.
